1937 SS100 2.5 Litre
Chassis No. 18121
History of the Vehicle
After manufacture, this particular vehicle was delivered new to Henly’s in July 1937, it found its way to the USA early on as many of them did. Mr William (billy) Martin renowned for his ownership of many SS100’s, purchased 18121 to add to his collection. It was thought he owned around 5 SS100’s at that time. Some 20 to 30 years ago he commissioned his friend/restorer in Derby to restore one of his cars, the problem was the car needed a lot of work and assembly. After the work had been finished it was then decided to send 18121 over as a reference as it was so sound and original.
Once restoration had concluded 18121 was left in storage in Derby. About 4 years ago it was decided that it would be restored again to its former glory. It then had a full nut and bolt restoration and today it is as the photos show, easily capable of winning Concours or being enjoyed on the road.
All matching numbers and excellent in every way after a total restoration, to the highest of standards.
