For Sale – 1934 SS1 20hp Tourer
History of the Vehicle
Original matching numbers SS1 20hp tourer, supplied from the factory to Henly’s – Oxford on 14th December 1934. The first owner was Lt.Col. H.D. Crossland of Henley-on-Thames. Then known to have spent some time in the USA owned by a Mr J. Kaplan in California, obviously a dry American state as the car has survived extremely well and still only covered a very modest 60,000 miles.
Sold to the present fastidious owner in 1997 the car had the ash frame re-built and the colour changed from original black to white. The original upholstery colour of tan was retained with new hood and side screens. At the same time a full mechanical restoration was also carried out.
The car has had only occasional use as the owner now lives abroad and only then in dry weather conditions. Stored in heated, dehumidified storage but run regularly, it is in superb condition. The only modification to original is the fitting of a second owl eye rear lamp to facilitate the incorporation of flashing indicators.
A very good and useable SS tourer that will only increase in value.
